Glad to know that I am not the only one who is bothered by all the beeping.

I have already lodged a complaint with my local Nissan dealer and in fact asked them if they could do something to deactivate the beeping. Unfortunately they said that the programs for these beeps were so deeply buried that any changes would probably render various bits of the car non-functional. Probably a bunch of BS, but then I don't want some hack messing stuff up.

I can understand the 3 beeps when you leave the car running and walk away from it with the keys. But why all the other beeps. And not to come down too hard on the US market, but it is because of the US that I am now suffering. Cars sold in the US have been warning stupid people of things for years, and I am sure as a cost cutting measure Nissan just decided to make the systems the same for all countries, so thanks a lot all you stupid people and lawyers that made this happen.

One interesting note, years ago all domestic cars sold in Japan were required to have a bell/buzzer that became active after the car exceeded 100km/h. My old 300zx used to do it and it about drove me nuts because I couldn't keep it under 100, but at least the recent cars don't have this. Although we are still burdened by the damn 180km/h speed limiter, oh and too damn many stoplights.

So holding the lock/unlock simultaneously for a few seconds will turn off the various beeps that are driving me crazy? I will give it a try, and thanks.
LOL - ur Japanese and u said "homelessdrunk-san"

thats funny

About the beeps I dont like how it beeps when we are getting out of the car but I like the horn for alarm because sometims I alarm from in my house and like to hear it thru the walls to know that is locked - especially if the G is out in the driveway. I wish we could keep the horn but kill the beep tone when stepping out of the car after turning it off. Think they could do it for us at the dealership?

Wild guess is the ACC button (see Trouble Shooting check list page 3-12 in North American owner's guide). Other than that, it's probably warning you that your key fob is still in the car when you open the door. One way to find out is to throw or hand someone the key before rolling up the window and shutting down the engine, hopefully it no longer beeps if you open the door without the key fob. Um ... just be careful where you throw that key fob lol. If it turns out to be the fob, I can see why they chose to beep while you still have a chance to hear but it does mean you get beeped at all the time.

Thanks for the idea, I will give it a try.

And DetroitG37Joe,

I am not Japan, but just happen to live in Japan. I am actually a born and bred Michigander. Come from the thumb originally.
