342/20(total galloons)= 17.1mpg, that's not exactly 'great'

But doesn't the trip computer do the math a little different, leaving a couple gallons or so in the tank when ya hit 0 miles to go as a safety measure?

So 342/18 = 19mpg; still not great but noticeably better.

If you were doing "city driving" there is no way you'd average 38+ miles per hour.

I live in Phoenix. My drive to work in downtown is about 25 miles each way. I usually get out of the house at about 6 am, and try to time the lights to avoid coming to a complete stop. My personal best is 5 complete stops in 45 minutes of driving.

I am sure my driving style will **** a lot of people, and it's kinda silly to expect good mileage in a G.

My drive home in the afternoon averages about 22mpg

I don't even drive the car hard but it's all city driving and I'm at 15-16mpg. I've been driving like an old man and the car maintains it's speed pretty well when you feather the throttle every now and then so I'm sitting at a 19, luckily.

Kinda silly that I have to play a game with the MPG meter in order to get some decent MPG and I can't just DRIVE.

When I don't push the car, My recorded averages tend to be in the 20-21 range, but that's with a moderate amount of highway driving (around 70%). My city driving tends to dip my average into the 18-19's, but like I said, that's when I'm not pushing the car.

LOL i know what you mean. i did that for a while but then switched to the MPG/average speed view since i feel more at liberty to drive how i want, rather than constantly try to keep the gauge above 20
