Any ideas what this is for? Found it wraped in plastic in the trunk.

 

Its the tow hook filler panel for the front bumper. It just snaps into the front bumper.

 

is it under the mat i havent seen that? is it near/with the spare?

 

^^ perhaps your dealer installed it for you (as they should have). I had to install mine. Look under the front grill - see if there is a missing spot - if yours is installed, you should still see the outline where it can be removed to get at the tow hook.

 

It is the interlocking mechanism for when you wish to combine your G with 3 other Gs into 1 giant transformer G that resembles a truck.
