Sun/Moon Roof

I thought a moonroof only tilts, but a sunroof can slide open (or tilt).

In some of the previous literature, they mentioned a more refined 6-speed transmission. I initially was excited as that seems to be the only lasting sticky point with the G (refinement).

The final drive changed to 3.69, which was different than the 07 Z and 07 G coupe. That gave me some confidence that the tranny would finally change - but I just noticed that the 07 sedan has the same final drive ratio. DOes this mean that the "more refined" 6-speed is actually just an improvement over the old coupe, but not necessarily "new" as it is in the sedan already?

Good question. The revised rear drive ratio in both suggests there is a chance another part of the drivetrain (trans) will also be the same.

The literature also uses "new" or "refined" in conjuction with "lightweight" to describe the 6MT, which gives me hope of more significant improvement over the current 6MT. Doesn't help much, but it does appear that there were some significant revisions. I never remember the current 6MT being described as "lightweight"... ...although it's not exactly robust either.

I can't wait for good reviews of the production-model 6MT... ...or a test-drive of my own to determine the difference.

The more I think of it, the more I believe it's the same unit from the '07 sedan. DOesn't seem to make sense to change the transmission in 07 just to change it again for the new coupe. Especially now that I see the gear ratios changed to match that of the sedan. I think alot of items are probably a carryover from the sedan but are considered "new" or "revised" because they are comparing it to the previous coupe. Not necessarily new for the G line.

This is exaclty how i read it. much the same as "36% stiffer suspension"; stiffer than that of the existing coupe, not the new sedan.

of course your argument of "DOesn't seem to make sense to change the transmission in 07 just to change it again for the new coupe" can be disproved by looking at the engine change

Winding the motor up quickly (at low or high revs) is what uses the fuel. The high revs just use a little more due to increased friction, but not nearly as much as you imply.

The increase is stiffness refers to the chassis -- the car itself is 36%-40% stiffer depending on which article you are reading. Suspension may or may not be stiffer.

When I had an 07 G sedan as a loaner, the increased chassis stiffness was an OBVIOUS improvement in the car's behavior.

Same. The screen is still there. The nav buttons are just changed.
