I have this code when my check engine light came on after I filled up my gas tank! The fuel level was at 1/2 so I thought that i only needed 10 gallons but when It reached 15 gallons I got concerned! Then the check engine light came on and code was P0462, fuel
level, do I need a new fuel gage?

More than likely the UMAC amp is starting to give up the ghost. This is becoming more common especially as these cars age.

Just search google using "P0462 site:myg37.com" and tons of threads will pop up. Easier to find a replacement from a pull-a-part yard or eBay but, if you are skilled, you can look into possibly repairing the unit yourself.
