Trunk Seperator replacement or hack?
Trunk Seperator replacement or hack?
I recently got new tires, and it looks like the tire place removed and lost the trunk seperator from my car when putting the spare back in. They deny it, blah blah. Bottom line, its gone. What are my options? Can I jury rig it? I tried looking online for one, but dont see any for sale (maybe I dont know the correct name?). Any ideas appreciated.
Thanks!
Thanks!
I think the part you are referring is called the "tonneau board." I found p/n: 84982-5NJ0B which runs around $350 new from Infiniti. That is "if" the part is still available.
I looked at eBay and didn't find any.
It would seem that you should be able to "trick" the microswitch(es) into thinking the separator (tonneau) is locked. However, be extremely careful with this "bypass." If you forget and put stuff in the trunk and try to open the roof- you WILL damage the panels.

It seems like in order to "lose" that part, they would have to have physically cut it out. Perhaps they damaged it then decided maybe you wouldn't notice if they just sliced it off and threw it out. Anyway, you could probably make one with thin plywood and a template of the original which someone here could probably provide.
