Flapper stuck

Hi everyone! My vert is a 2013 6mt Sport in black on black. After 9 years of trouble-free ownership, the passenger side flap/flipper gets stuck on opening. Dealer quoted 3 grand. The car has relatively low mileage (64K) and drives well. Is this the start of endless convertible issues? Maybe smarter people than I can chime in.

Thanks!

Flappers broken gears are one of the most common failure point on those verts. They all broke down some days ...It affect al years from 2009 to 2015.

At the dealer, the gear itself is not part listed and, they will replace the whole linkage assembly...For that, they will charge around $1300 for the part (for one side only) + labour!

Good news!, I got some, made by a local gears machine shop, made from solid steel; engineered and machined to exceed oem specs. They are already assemble and are direct fit for all models (2009/2015).. Can be replace by DIY in around an hour per side(or get it done by your local mechanic). No special tools needed, except for a rivet gun and aluminum rivets(available for cheap price at your local hardware store). I also provide all installation instructions do do that job easily.

If you're interested in a pair, to put back the fear of a broken flap again, fo way way less than replacing a complete linkage, just email me at guy.menard305@videotron.ca for the price and shipping.

regards!
