Convertible Trunk Safety Divider Broken

Hello everyone, this is my first post so I hope I am doing this right. I tried several searches and I get no results.

I need help finding out where I can order or what the parts are called for the latches on the trunk safety divider that you have to have up and in place to retract the convertible top. The hard little plastic tab or latches that go into the slots are broken and one has fallen off and gotten lost on the left side and the one on the right of the divider is hanging on my one little loos screw that doesn’t tighten no matter what I try. How can I find out what parts I need? I can take pictures of this on my break from work later. Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know what I am talking about? It is the little trunk separator divider that has to be flipped up and locked into place in order for the convertible top to open. The latches that lock into place are loose and about to fall off. Can anyone help me find out what parts those are so that I can order them? Thanks in advance.

Hi
Starting with the side that has the loose screw. Undo the screw that holds it on and set aside the plastic part. Then go to Lowe’s, Home Depot, or an auto parts store. Get a new screw that is the same length but the next size larger. I had to do that on my convertible. It will grip fine. If it is not black you can paint the screw head or use a black sharpie. For the lost plastic part, thoroughly look all over the trunk to see if you can find it The carpeted mat/divider can be removed so check in that well. Also look in the storage compartment, inside by the bumper, for the tire changing stuff. It probably will need a new larger screw, so get a couple of them.
If you can’t find the missing plastic part check with junkyards. It may be that the part can’t be bought by itself but as part of the whole carpet/divider. Hope this helps.

Made a quick check and I couldn’t find that Infiniti sells the plastic part by itself. However, try www.infinitipartsdeal.com or call 1-888-301-9478 using part number- 84907N.Talk to them and describe the missing part. If that doesn’t work, you don’t have to go to a junkyard, start with eBay searching for parts for you convertible. For example, mine is a 2010 G37S convertible. I would enter- 2010 Infiniti G37 parts in the search area. Various junkyards will list their offerings. Form their listings you can write them [in eBay] and ask if they have the part you want. There are also online junkyard listings Which you can email direct. Happy hunting.

Thank you so much for your help, so close! It is the part on the divider flap that latches into that piece you are showing me. I promise I will take a picture on my lunch break. I work in the medical field and it's always so hectic and then I am so tired after work I just wanna go home and I forget LOL!!!

Are these the "little.bums" you are referring to:

If so, bad news. None of the parts diagrams show these as being available. More than likely you would have to buy a new panel or source one from a junkyard. Cheapest panel I found was $133 new from here.

And, no apologies are needed. We all have lives of our own and being that you are in the medical field with all this mess going on in the world: a big thank you.

Thank you! That is nice of you to say, and appreciate that.

Yes that is exactly the part, I am missing the left one, and the right one is about to fall out. I have to wedge something in the receptacle on the left side of the trunk so that the car things the separator is latching and the right side is still able to latch but don't give it much longer. I really wish someone sold that piece by itself, has anyone else had this issue with these falling off? They are very cheap plastic. Someone should 3D print these!

If it is just the screw coming loose you can drill out the hole in the panel a little bit and fill with epoxy. The just pre drill nad out the screws back in.
