Used convertible question Sport / Base
Used convertible question Sport / Base
I'm looking to buy a used 2009-2011 G37 convertible. I see many listed as Sport but they are missing the S emblem on the trunk. Can the VIN reveal whether it's a Sport? Are all convertibles "Sport"? How do I tell?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
S stands for Sport
Listing cars as upgraded models is an old, slimy, used car dealer trick. Every chevy truck gets Z71 stickers, etc, because the price and loan value go up.
It’s easy to verify if it’s actually a sport. Dig around and you’ll find the list of upgrades from standard to sport. Things like seats, brakes, wheels, steering gear ratio. Probably some more I have forgotten.
if the car has all of those things it’s an S regardless of the S on the trunk. No one would go to the trouble to upgrade all of those things. The difference in price wouldn’t justify it.
I’ve had my 2009 Vert 6mt for about 3 years and 30,000 miles. Still love the car. Good luck joining the club!
