Sport vs. Non Sport once more
Sport vs. Non Sport once more
Hello all, I realize this is not a new topic but I've read all the existing threads on this and want to ask a new question.
I currently have a 2008 Journey w/Sport and Premium packages that I did a 24 month lease on and it's ending in 10 days. Looking to lease a new 2010 now and have found that the dealers in the Atlanta GA area have many more coupes without Sport than with Sport now. Seems that most are equipped with Premium and Nav but no sport.
I've loved having the Sport package on my current 08 but I have to confess that really I only get to take advantage of it on about 5% or less of my driving. Most of the time I'm doing normal driving, just occasionally getting onto one of those roads where a spirited drive is really fun.
I test drove a non-sport Journey the other day and it seemed to handle pretty well but of course you don't really get to test it out real well during the test drive or find good roads to test it on. The non-sports version does seem a little smoother than mine and of course the tires would last much longer and be cheaper.
I guess what I'm asking is has anyone on here had a Sport version for awhile then switched to non-sport and what were your impressions? I really don't know how much I would miss the Sport version.
Also, the leather seats seemed a little softer and more comfy on the non-sport I drove the other day. Don't know if that's because of the difference between sport and non-sport or difference between 2008 and 2010. Any ideas?
Dave

I think the seats make all the difference to be honest.
and then you get the added benefit of everything else.
but since you're leasing it and it doesn't look like you're going to buy one outright, you might as well negotiate a lower price on the non-sport models cause if you had to ask the question of "why I do I need it" you probably don't. and it'll be cheaper at the end of it all.

I would drive the 2010 S v. non-S and form your own opinion. If you don't prefer the S or don't care either way, you might as well save some money.
I like the additional features in the S, and consider it somewhat of a bargain for what you get. If you prefer a bit softer ride and would significantly benefit from the added tire life, then it sounds like you might already have a decision made.
Good luck!

true! brakes alone is worth it, now add the DSL rear differential. yup, well worth it... wish I bought a sport. but I'm happy with my Journey though. Initially I wanted to get the base model, luckily they didn't have any.

was in lust after this car, then I looked at the details and the G37S offered
so much more for so much less $. Both are nice cars, but he does get pissed
when I blow him away with G-Power lol
Bigger brakes, LSD, and suspension => get the S.
