When Top is Partially Open...
Newbie here... Loving my 2009 G37 Convertible!
I would like to lube the weatherstripping and grease the moving parts for the top (as described in the instructions for BMWs posted elsewhere on this forum) to hopefully make it a bit quieter...
But, I'm afraid of leaving my top partially open for too long and not being able to get it opened/closed again...
Here's what I know:
- Don't turn the car off with the roof partially open (either leave the car running or leave it on with a battery charger)
- TSB ITB14-023 describes how to test the hydraulic unit (pump) assembly by measuring the amount the top sinks/drops when the roof is opened part way.
What else should a newbie watch out for when partially opening the top for maintenance?
