It seems like anything to do with the roof is expensive to repair. I'd be curious to know how much something like that cost to repair if you don't mind me asking...

Bad Battery

I was having issues with my top stopping, and I was trying to open it with the engine running. Turns out that my battery was the cause of it and after I put in a new battery the top has worked perfectly. I guess a low battery can still cause issues even when the car is running. I had even had the Infiniti dealership look at it and they could not find the problem was the battery.

It's great to learn these tips when it comes to the complicated mechanisms involved to make the tops work!

So as it turned out my hydraulic pump was causing the whole issue. It was leaking and not making any kind of sounds like it should. To fix it at the dealership would've costed me over 8k with about 7400 being the price of the pump (which they don't sell seperate but with all the cylinders and hoses). So what I did was order a rebuilt one from top hydraulics for $700 ($200 refund after I send in the core and comes with 3 year warranty) replaced the cylinders and wiring onto the new pump had the dealer bleed the hoses so there's no air reprogrammed and now it works perfectly. Paid the dealer about 1k so all in all came out to about 1500. Even though it took a while I saved a bunch of $$$ 😊

Awesome! Thanks for reporting back. Maybe post a link to the place you got your pump from? This should help a lot of people in the future.
