Proximity and impact sensor?

Has anyone tried to install an aftermarket proximity sensor into the convertible? I found one from DEI (DEI 508D dual stage proximity sensor).

I know the factory alarm has compatibility issues with aftermarket stuff but I wouldn't mind trying it out if someone could help me with the install.

And I read in a thread in the coupe forum talking about impact sensor in the 09s. Does anyone know if we have one in the verts?

What does the impact sensor do?
I know we have a tilt sensor, it deploys the two roll-bars when the car tilts sideways.

The tilt sensor is to sound the alarm if the car is tilted or jacked up (where someone is trying to steal the wheels for example).
