Vert Order Delayed

Ordered my new 6MT Lapis Blue vert back in January. Was supposed to take 11 weeks to arrive, now the dealer says more like end of may, early june which could be up to 19 weeks.. Are the production runs on 6MT's so infrequent? Dealer offered to swap out for another color, but I guess I'd rather just wait...

6MT's only make up about 10% of all convertibles if I am not mistaken. I had to go to another state to get mine but it was only 3 hours away. Dealers can also trade with other dealers for cars but they can charge you for transport.

It looks like you keep your cars for awhile so I would not settle for any color, either. Get what you want and you'll be happier in the long run.

Hope you get what you want sooner than later.

Hang in there man - its worth the wait.

BTW - it is my understanding that about 6% of the Verts are MT so you will be in an exclusive club soon...

just wait!!!!
I ordered mine in march, and was promised a late May, early June delivery..
Then the Tsunami hit...

long story short, i got my car in August, yes, waited almost 5 months!! lol
But it was so worth it! i got everything I wanted,
Also, infiniti was thankful I waited so they gave me an employee only discount,
so my monthly payment (39month, 12k mile/year lease) is stupid low for a car that's 50K

Thanks for the support guys...will wait (no so) patiently until my vert arrives... That said, I'm shocked at the percentage of 6MT's for the verts! 6-10%? I guess us stick guys are a dying breed... Anyone know what that translates to in units per year>>

Holy crap, say it isn't so! If that is true, then I am even happier that I got a stick. Not that it really crossed my mind much to get an automatic. I will be hanging on to mine for quite a while if this happens.

Wonder if this is a result of the new "relationship" with Mercedes...

it may be a slow phaseout.

how's the roof on your vert? leaks? rattles? i'm looking into getting a 6 MT vert.

No leaks or major rattles. What I drive over a pot hole or on rough roads, it make a little noise but nothing that bothers me and I am real picky about rattles and noises. The car is very tight for a car like this.

I had one problem with my trunk staying open after I closed the roof but it was a one time deal that was fixed in the same day. My cloth headliner slipped over and got stuck in a track and the system stopped when it detected pressure. The dealer told me that was the only time they had seen this. Otherwise, it has been a great car and I would do it all over again.

Mine turned a year old last week and just hit 12,000 miles. I use it as a daily driver and couldn't be happier.
