Hard top jammed

Anyone have an Idea? it's obvious that the service department has none.

This past weekend my wife tried to lower the top of our brand new G37 convertible, the top jammed with the trunk passenger side lifted open, we called the dealer and they came by and picked it up. My wife has been in touch with the service department all day, they are baffled, needless to say so are we, the dealer says now that they are sending it to a body shop because they have no idea what is going on.

Now you would think the dealership would be the one to fix it, don't you?

The car is three months old and only has 1200 miles, there was nothing in the trunk at the time (only because you really cant fit anything in there) It is her pride and joy, but it does put questions in our heads about the reliability of our new car.

Oooh nooooo. When the dealer can't figure it out, that's not good. Sorry to hear about that. Any pictures of how it was stuck?

There is a way that the dealer can move through the motions of the hard top without having to use the control switch. My dealer had to look it up. It may be through the consult III. It allows them to go through all the motions to see where the top is getting hung up and to help diagnose.

Had the same thing happen to mine 3 days after buying it. the dealer can operate the top with Consultant III machine to check each sensor. There is a run of bad sensors that some cars have from the factory, i was one of the unlucky few who got one. they replaced under warranty and have not had any problems since.

well if she let go of the top while it was in motion and the wind blew it out of whack, i've seen that happen on other verts as well.

The dealer doesn't know or doesn't want to tell? IS this same dealer you bought the car from?

I would have taken more than few photos if that happens to my car....

All the hard top mechanism are designed and made in Germany...

Many other hard tops have same mechanism... BMW, Volvo, Jag and Infiniti..

Dropped our 2010 off at the dealer yesterday to have the top pump replaced and the roof dents fixed. I brought the problem to their attention five weeks ago and they finally scheduled the appointment. I'm not surprised your dealer is clueless.

Our dealership couldn't find any factory information on replacing the pump so the mechanic said he found a Nissan convertible "How To" video to guide him through the process. I'm afraid........very afraid.
