problems with rear splash guard install

I got the splash guards for the the coupe which are advertised to also fit the convertible. But the paper template doesn't have the same curve as my fender and when I test fit it and attached it with the one existing bolt on the bottom it seems like I would have to do exsesive bending and flexing to get it to align with the holes I would drill using the template. The hole seem like they would be way to high up the fender lip. Even if I can do this it looks like the rear section would wrap to high up on the bumper and not stick on the compound curve.

Are they that tough to install ? The part number is correct and they look just like the picture in the adds for the coupe rear splash guards.

Can anyone help here ???

I'm frustraded
