Oil change on G37 Convertible

Couple weeks ago I've got my 2010 G37 Vert. Dealer told me that it requires special blend of oil and I can only replace it on the dealership. They want $125 just for the oil change. Does anyone know anything about that? Your response is greatly appreciated.

yeah that special blend of oil is the regular oil they use plus the bullsh!t they've got to add to it.

it doesn't need any special blend of oil. they might be referring to the "Nissan Ester Oil" that some dealers feel is the ONLY oil that a G can take. Not true. Some use it, some don't, but it is definitely NOT required.

Wow. that is some load of bull. some dealers go by the manual's recommendation and some will do synthetic for extra.

Just go with Castrol or Mobil 1 Synthetic and you'll be fine. Did this for my 08 Coupe, and now with my Vert. Car had no issues.

The manual states that the Ester oil is recommended. It does not state that it is required. Quite a few car models will recommend that you use their products for periodic maintenance.
