New G37x/vert Photos on August 16th

Edmunds states that the first pics may be introduced at an upcoming car show -- can't wait to see what the vert looks like (hopefully not identical to the previous pics we've seen: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=130367

By the way, did they have to call it a "Coming Out Party"?

I knwe the vert was gonna debut at LA. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed until I get to see it in November, hoping they don't ruin the car.

Yeah I went from a '04 G35 coupe (totalled) to a '06 Lexus GS430 (sweet but boooooring so SOLD) to a '98 Honda Accord beat up POS (family hand down). Itching to sign on to a new G37 coupe but really waiting for the verdict on the hardtop convertible. I have NEVER driven a convertible and kind of excited thinking about it.

Aug 16th is now marked on my calendar

According to the article posted above you won't have to wait until Nov to get a glimpse. They will give us a look on 08/16.

Driving a convertible is tons of fun. I use to have a 04 Mustang GT convertible that had Paxton SC in it before I got my G35. Everytime I drove my G35 & G37, I have to have all the windows open.

As a newbie to the convertible thing, do convertibles tend to have lots of problems, i.e. water leaking, rattling, etc? I'm going to guess that hardtops are less likely to have issues than cloth, but anyone have experience with a hardtop?

Prior to my G37S, I had a Mercedes CLK 500 convertible. It was a soft top with 7 layers, so it was solid and quiet. No water leaks or rattling. I did get the rear roll bars to pop-up once when i was slightly air-born. Once they popped up, it rendered the soft top inoperable. Had to take it to the dealership to get the roll bars lowered before I could use the top again. If you keep the wheels on the ground you might be OK! :-)

On some convertibles, the stereo is designed so that most of the speakers are up front so it sounds good with the top down. Not as good though then a conventional stereo set-up for when the top is closed.

Convertibles are great, but the line of a solid coupe can't be beat. Hope the G version is true to their new design. Hardtops look better, but not as clean as a coupe. Less lines. Most convertibles look best with the top down. Unfortunately that's only about half a year. But damn they're fun. It's the only thing that was better on the MB then the G.

Wow, hardtop convertible... I can only imagine what this would do to the G37's already small trunk... I'm guessing it would render it completely useless with the top stowed.

I used to own a Lexus SC430 before my G37 and it was a lot of fun. I did find myself not using it often enough to explain the price difference between convertible/coupe. Ohh well...

Aside from the trunk space getting smaller from the hard top, the added weight is a turn off as well. This car is heavy enough as is.

AWD model based on FX and EX pricing would be approximately $1,500 or so higher in MSRP vs. Journey. I'd expect to see high 40's to low 50's on the convertible.
