One things for sure, even if this article wasn't BS, we won't be seeing any of this until after 2015.

Seems like they'll need to improve the engine somehow already for the 2014 G sedan.

The 14MY G sedan will use the same VQ37.

You know what that means.. when the boosted VQ's start coming out, swaps should be a piece of cake

New IPL 550hp 100k+

If true it would be a beast but then you are cross shopping a whole different segment of performance cars above the M/AMG/F-Sport.
The C63 coupe loaded w/ P31 and LSD is ~$87k (that's the MSRP of the one I ordered). All of these cars will have a new model released within the next few years, each with a price bump. I figure that the $100k+ quote was a bit exaggerated. If this car goes into production, it should be inline to compete with the M/AMG/F cars in performance and price, even if it is close to $100k. However, Infiniti would lose it's "bang for the buck" bragging rights.

The GTR makes similar HP and is powered by a TT V6. With it being badged as a Nissan and having fewer amenities than this Infiniti variant (one would naturally presume) and not being badged as an IPL, how would pricing not be equivalent if not higher than current GTR pricing which is now around $100K?

^the GT-R has a lot more than just an engine upgrade over the G. We're talking about a performance model G, the GT-R is a super car. It's like comparing an SLS to the C63. Basically the same engine, but there's a $100k price difference between the two.

There may be a boosted G in the works, but that doesn't mean it will be on par with a GT-R, price or performance.

Now, if there is a new Infiniti with all of the performance parts/tech of the GT-R along with additional luxury features and refinement then expectations of it exceeding $100k are justified.

The new IPL will only be the same price as a GTR in Japan, it will be matching pricing of the M3 and AMG C63 in North America. So if will not be competing with the GTR here.

Do you have this information officially from Infiniti or is it your own speculation?

The funny thing is that in Japan the GT-R is actually somewhat less expensive than the M3... Maybe they have high taxes on imported cars - don't know.
