I've heard the opposite from several dealers. They say that customers complain that the EX is too small, and the seats in the FX are too small for car seats. The QX is too big and truck like. The JX should fill that gap.

That's where my family is at. I love my G sedan, but my wife is looking for 3 row crossover for herself and to haul the family. The QX is simply too big/expensive and the fx and ex do not offer enough seating. She really likes my G as well, and hasn't been overly impressed by most of the current offerings out there. My current top choice is the Acura MDX. Neither one of us is a big fan of Acura's current design language though and preferred the MDX prior to it's refresh. I am very interested to see more details on the JX.

I was looking for a seven seater recently, I probably would have got this if it were available with the QX interior. I agree, the EX is too small and personally for me the QX is too big. Went with an X5 instead and looking back, its a good idea not to have 2 cars from the same manufacturer.

Neither the EX nor the FX is roomy enough and the QX is an overkill.
I would consider the MDX but would like to stay in the Infiniti family (that and the local Acura dealer is a D-Bag ).

My wife and I were considering a smaller crossover before we settled on the G37. It is a little tight with the rear facing car seat and stuff for the baby, but it works for now.
Acura MDX is a nice vehicle, pretty roomy and decent interior quality... my sister in law has one. I test drove an RDX at that time since the MDX was a little out of my price range and too large, but unfortunately the seats in the RDX were killers, my wife and I had sore backs after a 30min test drive. Just couldn't find the sweet spot for the adjustments, the turbo 4cyl power and space were decent though.
I attempted to sit in the rear of the EX35 and could barely get my legs in, so that was out of the question.
