I am reading that the G25 sedan will be here by fall this year as a 2011 model. However, I am also reading that there will be a major redesign for the G Sedan for the MY2012??? So the G25 will only be "new" for one year before the major model re-design? Isn't that strange? Or am I getting the wrong information that the G sedan will see a major re-design for MY 2012? I am confused!!!

as for nissan redesigning the G in 2012, that could be a strong possibility since the previous generation G sedan was from 03-06 which is only 4 yrs and the current v36 platform has already been out since 07

 

I am betting the G25 will last only one model year. My dealer says you cannot get sunroof or leather on it.

 

Infiniti without leather? thats just dumb

 

makes sense for infiniti to launch a new G in 2012, maybe even 2013. the coupe will follow shortly there-after

i would imagine the coupe would get a facelift for 2011

 

i highly doubt that. Those options are available on a Sentra these days.

Though they were testing the Skyline 250GT in Japan, it's essentially the G25 here in the US.

 

Yeah no kidding. It'll probably cost Infiniti more to make cloth or "leatherette" seats for the G25 since it comes with leather in every other market. They'd have to make non-leather seats just for North America which defeats the purpose of a lower priced car.

a turbo 4 cylinder wouldnt make any sense in the Infiniti line up...the days of the G20's are over. turbo = less reliability and they didnt want to worry about that

 

No, when the inital story was released about the G25 being turbo charged, another story was released a day or two later saying "We were wrong, it's not turbo charged."

Infiniti also doesn't want a turbo 4 cylinder becuase it can't deliver the smoothness of a NA V6 and they don't want people putting a chip in them and making them faster than G37s.

OMG, no leather and a turbo. Move over STi and EVO. Maybe Infiniti will call it a G25pos. BMW is starting to look good....

 

It'll have leather and they've said from day one no turbo. I don't see what the issue is, it's supposed to compete against the BMW 328i and Mercedes C300 so of course it'll have an engine with less power.
