rumours on AWD

Hiya,
I have read that the g37 will have awd. I know the car is pretty heavy as is, but does anyone have reliable information of whether this will happen or not?
Thanks!

No one has reliable information but one salesman (who posted much earlier) claimed that the G37 showed physical signs of being AWD ready. InfinitiMichael, who works for Infiniti, wouldn't say whether or not there were any plans to produce a G37x. Right now it is a "wait and see" game.

well they did leave a blank button where the "snow mode" switch is between the seat heater buttons, instead of just removing it.

it could be because it's based on the FM platform but more than likely it's probably there so if they do decide to add it in the future the middle console parts will be backwards compatible.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. — Infiniti dealers won't get the Nissan Skyline GT-R, but all is not lost as the G37 coupe has an all-wheel-drive version on the horizon.

While Nissan is slow to confirm the timing, the addition of AWD to the 2008 Infiniti M45 sedan this fall, and the 2008 G35 Sport sedan early next year, makes it only a matter of time before the G37 coupe adds an "x" to its name as well.

"Dealers and customers have asked about it — and I understand it's reasonable to expect it may happen, but nothing has been finalized, no timing decided," said Tim Gallagher, senior manager for product launch strategy and corporate communications.

With the 2008 Audi A5 Quattro and 2008 BMW 335xi coupe entering the market, Infiniti would be smart to jump into the fray as quickly as possible, offering a 300-horsepower all-wheel-drive coupe that's sure to undercut the Audi and BMW in price.

What this means to you: The G37x could be your consolation prize for not getting a Skyline GT-R, and at half the cost.

If this is the case. I'd look at the G37 again for sure.
