Anyone running 245/35 front and 275/35 rear on OEM 19"? If so, what tire make do you have and what are your thoughts on the setup?

Thanks. I did go to the tirerack.com site and they do specify this as an upsize option. I'm hoping there is someone in Fl who has done this so I can get some firsthand feedback and take a look at their setup.

 

Toyo's website gives sizes of wheels and their recommended sizes. Just look at the T1R's and then look at 8.5" wheel sizes then see what sizes they recommend. You won't see a 275/35/19 recommended...

 

I'm running 245/35 and 275/30 Falkens on OEM 19". Gotta tell you Tony, BIG difference compared to my stock setup. I had no 1st/2nd on stock Contis and my car just spins and spins and spins with more than half tread left, but it's no secret that Contis are garbage. The added grip helps a lot at least with the kind of power I have. Haven't pushed the car into any kind of 'twisties' around here yet so I cannot comment on the handling. But if anything wider tires simply look better on the car.

However, my rears are 9.5".. on a 8.5" wheel I'd go with 255 or 265. Get rid of some of that understeer.

 

The recommended thread is quite good. My dad was in the tire business for over 25 years: You can indeed run this set-up, but it will depend on the make and design of the tire you select as well as the proper inflation. You can easily get uneven wear with this, but a good shop CAN help you out and advise you in person. I would not order this set-up over the internet at all--face to face with prior fittament is a must. You may end up trying various brands of tire to get the best, most even contact patch...
