With cross-drilled and/or slotted rotors it's a one time run deal. Your suppose to replace them with new ones after the pads are worn out! Finding anyone who will turn a cross drilled rotor is very TOUGH. Most shops won't do it because when that bit hits those holes it rips the bit to shreds!!!

I've had Brembo cross-drills crack... it happens! Heat is a b*tch!!!

 

More information please: vehicle type, year/model, pictures, length of time installed, pads used with rotors, calipers used on the rotors, driving habits, geographic location and part number of rotors?

 

Well, isn't that just a kick in the nvts!! I'd hate to have to replace the rotors each time I need new pads, if that is true. I'll stick with stock.

 

Unless you wear the pads down to the point wear they score the rotors, there shouldn't be any need to cut the rotors. If you drive and have a brain, you should know about when your pads are nearing the end of their life! Before you score the rotors, swap the pads. It's easy enough to do yourself and cheap enough to do before reaching the very end of the pad life.

U mean that ugly green Project Mu uses? LOL Kinda, but it's an easy fix. Moreso on the back pads. I would just use some caliper paint on the painted part of teh pads if you don't like it that much. In time that backing plate will get dirty anyway so I just left it. The fronts are near impossible to see, but then again I haven't seen my G in a few days since the tranny is getting replaced..... I miss my G

I must say that I really love this combo so far. The Project Mu pads give off way less dust. I recently drove back from Atlantic City (2.5Hr drive) and I would compare the amount of dust vs stock to be equal to what a quick 20-30 minute drive with the stock would be. In addition, the dust that is on the wheels is silverish not brown so it is barely noticeable! They have squeeked when cold (sitting overnight) for the first 2-3 stops, but after that they are quiet as stock!

 

wheee! back from the work mines! I don't even remember who asked what, but my combo of the Project Mu rotors and Hawk APS Ferro Carbons is the best combo I have found by far. And the heat resistant paint worked very well on the rotor "hats"
