New Car Purchase Program Work with trade-ups?

...after all the issues with my car I think I want to trade up to an 05, just a thought right now, but would the program be available to me if I decided to do a trade-in for an 05 comparably equipped. I've financed most of my 04 and I've payed off nearly half of what I've financed, so would that affect the $500 over invoice offer because of a trade-in?

I just has the same idea today, too... Since I have got my car, non-stop problems. Now my speakers are cutting out . Next time I am back in Clearwater, I might have to stop by and price out a new '05.

Someone just traded in a 3800 mile '04 coupe for a similarly equipped 05 and ate 7 grand, I don't know what deal they got on the 05 but dammit losing 7 grand on an almost brand new car trade-in, I'd rather fix my speakers and slap a Vortech on that thing. If you think the 05 has no issues at all, check all the clutch threads in coupe general. If I had an 04, the only trade-in I'd be considering would be for a slightly used M3 (yeah I know, apples to oranges..) but that's just my $.02.

Make sure to speak with John Oliva as the FGC-VPP is in the process of being restructured.

I traded my 04 for an 05 and the trade-in won't affect the $500 over invoice price. The only thing you need to worry about is how much they are willing to buy your old car for. That's what it boils down to. I would take it to carmax to see how much they would take it for (just to use as a benchmark).

Just sell your car on your own and then go buy the '05. Autotrader.com has 2004's selling from $30K to $32K.......I doubt the dealer will even come close.

Last October I went to go see the C6. I was considering trading in my then 6 month old G with 6K miles and they wanted to give me $26K......buuuuhahahaha. You will never never never never never never never come out on top by trading your car into a dealer especially if they are giving you a really good deal on the new car.

I bet you could have gotten a lot more if you sold it privately.

Nothing against Lokey, but that's just how all dealers are. The only benefit to selling you car to the dealer is the convenience.

Well, you only pay sales tax on the difference between the trade-in and the new car. Doesn't really make a difference if you sell it privately for a grand more, or trade it in and save a grand in sales tax. Not sure how that works if you still owe money on your trade-in so I might be totally wrong.

oh no doubt bout it, i was just comparing lokey to carmax

the only reason why i didnt want to sell mine is cause i didnt want to have to wait for the car to get sold, and didnt wanna get stuck w/ two car payments
