We are getting the first 10 in production since i've been working with TAKEDA since last summer on this project. They actually used my car 3x to mock up the prototype.
I have to talk to them again on Monday to see what type of pricing i can do for our community before i post pricing but who ever wants them first let me know
yeah.. before i make any decisions, I want to see dyno charts, and your thoughts on this.
I know their website claims 19HP gain, but I'm a skeptic on everything LOL
What is your initial opinion of these Lou? Comparable to Stillen; better, worse?
The original design i suggested would have cost too much and i asked them to keep the cost down as much as possible so this is the best way to do with without driving the price pass $500. Main concern from the short ram they mad was the heat soak so i suggested to find another route to get colder air in to the engine without leaving the filters on the bottom to avoid hydrolock. Also, having 1 big filter in the middle by the grill would also helped on lowering the cost but i'm sure that design also has something to do with the HP output.
Its very similar to the GEN 3, so the horse power output should be very similar. I do like the fact that there is no cutting involved and that they use silicone hoses where the the tube goes through the front bumper because when the engine torques back and forth, more flex on the pipe with the rubber hoses, less chances of noise or rattle.
MAF location was moved closer to the TB, i'm sure for a reason. Takeda does a lot of R&D before they release a product.
Yes I will call them on Monday and find out why there is no shield on the filter up front, my guess is that the better the air flow, the more HP/TQ. Maybe i can convince them to make a shield and its up to the buyer to install them or not.
