So is there any performance gain here or is it all shows and no go?

I recently got this same exhaust for my '08 and it's pretty much how the op described it. Zero rasp, deep and clean sounding. It's not too loud neither, so if you want a very loud exhaust, this one might not be it. When just cruising around, it's not loud at all, but when you give it a go, it's nice and deep.

Pros - clean sound with oem cats
- not too loud
- easy install

Cons - flex pipes are crap will crack and leak
- exhaust tips are clamped on not welded
- sounds like **** with test pipes

Invidia on my 09 G37

After hearing a buddies 350Z with an invidia exhaust system, I knew I HAD to have it. I have always been afraid of buying an exhaust for this car as i am incredibly picky when it comes to rhasp, and I thought my stock exhaust sounded great (quiet down low, louder up high) - I didn't want my G sounding like a civic.

I installed this exhaust without a lift. Legit - jacked the car up, removed all mounts, unbolted the exhaust from the cats, and removed the entire thing as one piece. I assembled the Invidia exhaust prior to mounting to the car, and it couldn't have been any easier.

I started the car, and immediately fell in love. Compared to factory - the factory definitely has a decent amount of rasp at high rpms - vs this with the cleanest, zero rasp system. I cannot explain how much I love this exhaust, and get compliments from other Nissan owners all the time!

Review:

Amplified Motorsport
I've purchased from Amplified before this. Never had a bad experience, but this one was especially great. I worked solely with Lou on this and he was very prompt to my inquiries, processing my order, and helping to make sure I had it on time. While I sometimes feel the need to follow-up with vendors on progress of the order to ensure I get it on time, I didn't feel the need to with Amplified. Excellent experience, as always!!! Thanks guys! Keep up the good work.

Packaging
Coming from the west coast all the way to the east coast, I'm picky about product packaging. The Invidia was packaged in a very durable box and packaged well with foam and each piece wrapped separately. Each part was labeled as well which was helpful. I didn't have to think in doing the install. For less experienced users, a diagram may be helpful, but I was fine without it.

Quality
I had my neighbor help me with the install. He owns a shop so it was nice to be able to toss the car up on the rack for easy install. I knew before purchasing that this was a quality product. The welds are perfect and overall it looks great. As a professional in the business, he was very impressed with the quality and even more impressed with how easy it was to install. Fitment was perfect (my car is 6MT with 4WAS). Absolutely no clearance issues whatsoever.

Sound
First let me say that I'm not a fan of loud exhausts. In fact, I was perfectly happy with OEM but since my car is slammed, my OEM front pipe has scraped a few too many times and I had messed up the flex pipe. So instead of repairing, I gave in to a new aftermarket exhaust. The Invidia Gemini has the perfect sound for me. The sound is a deep and solid. No rasp whatsoever. After hearing this, I actually think OEM has some rasp.... or maybe the OEM just didn't feel as "solid". The Invidia is noticeabily louder but not overpowering. Sounds great with windows up and down. I've very pleased with my choice.

Performance
Well, according to the butt dyno, I think it improved low-end acceleration. Going from 2-3 seems quicker where before I think there was a lag. It could just be in my head and if so, I'm fine with it. There definitely wasn't a negative impact on performance, lol. I wasn't buying this exhaust expecting "X" increase in WHP.

Overall
Couldn't be happier!!! Everything went so right with this purchase from the initial talks with Lou, the install, to driving it down the road. I still have a smile on my face. No regrets whatsoever.
