hello so i took my g37 to a shop today over having hard starts /misfiring and they found some codes on IPM what do you guys thinks?
the plugs where also bad so im going to have them changed

 

Honestly? Get a second opinion from a qualified, reputable repair shop- preferably 9ne that specializes in Nissan. The attached "estimate" is rife with issues.

Without more details regarding your symptoms there is only but so much we can diagnose online. Are there any codes showing?

The Steering Lock codes may be an issue if the ESCL fuse is still plugged in. I would suggest, regardless of anything else, that you pull the ESCL fuse (in the IPDM/er) while the engine is running to prevent the ESCL from failing and bricking your car.

I am not aware of any issues with "burned valves" on these engines. Unless your car/ engine was totally abused and maintenance ignored, I doubt there is any valve train issues. I would get an oil pressure test WAY before I would a compression test.

In the unlikely event the engine needs to be "rebuilt" I would just replace it and drive on. It is far cheaper to replace than perform any major repairs, IMO.

Again, get a second opinion and not from a backyard shop, Just my 10¢.
