P0011 code - How to fix?

Hey guys I currently have a P0011 code and have no idea where to even start addressing this problem. It all started in the morning before work. Usually I would let the car idle to temp then drive off, but right before that I got the code P0011. It was the only code that popped up, besides being catless.

Some recent maintenance I did was:
1. Replaced cam sensor bank 1 , P0340 via dealership 8/12/24
2. Coil packs using Z1 Coils, had a P0305(5th cylinder misfire) 8/23/34
3. Oil change 200 miles ago
Note all of the previous codes never back
also the car is FBO, catless, and tuned via z1 ots
2010 g37x , 205,1xx miles
Btw this is my daily driver lol

Have you control oil level ?
Pressure oil ?
It's possible oil gasket failure .

No I have not checked my oil pressure yet
Is it possible for a new gallery gasket to fail?
The previous owner did the gallery gasket like 15k miles ago.

Check your VVT solenoid.

And if you need to replace it, only use the Hitachi brand.

Sure thing, I was all over the forums and it kinda freaked me out at how much/seriousness of this Code was. If it isn’t the VVT solenoid what steps should I be taking next? Also with just being a P0011 code , in most cases it’s just the VVT solenoid being clogged or just worn down?

More than likely the phaser ring shifted.

I am still convinced that solenoids that fix this issue point to a ring starting to shift. and a new solenoid just mends the problem by allowing just a slight more opening of the valving.

Gasket's can break even after replacing them. So not completely out of the woods.

Being that you are tuned:
Higher power numbers will also yield higher oil temps, these higher oil temps on a fun night added by constant high rpm shifting can shift these phasers towards the retarded position. We are talking about minimal movement over time however 20k miles, that minimal movement can equal a few degrees of timing.
You should be able to read the cam position, it should always be the same as the other bank, if it is not and oil pressure is steady then it's the phaser ring. If oil pressure is all over the place then the gasket busted again.

Thank you for that information. The g is my daily and I drive this car like an old grandma lol. Sometimes there will be spirited driving but nothing too crazy. Oil temps usually run 195-220 w/o no cooler btw. Mostly this car is 80% highway miles since I commute to work an hour away.
Is it recommended to use OEM or Hitachi for the replacement if it is the phaser ring?

For the phaser ring, this is a heavy job.

Timing cover will need to be removed and a new VTC sprocket will need to be installed. You can try the solenoid, which using Hitachi/OEM yields the best of chances at hoping the code goes away.

In my experience there is only a 20% chance the solenoid fixes the issue.

Would you recommend using a Hatachi or OEM VTC sprocket?
