p0300 missfire on g37

p0300 missfire on g37

has anyone had this problem on their g. i have 80000 miles on mine and this morning as soon as i started my car it came on but was not last night when i got home and turned off the car.

your car could be running too lean is it throwing a p0171 code as well or just a multiple cylinder misfire?

when i checked it just had the same code twice but did not have a p0171 code

Good luck with that one! My car threw the P0300 cylinder misfire code several weeks back as well. It's apparently a very generic code that can be from any of a number of causes. It took the tech at my dealership 3 visits to finally track down the root problem. Search the posts on this forum and you'll see what I mean.
The fortunate thing though is that I don't think it's typically a serious issue.

ok thanks. my car still runs normal no hesitation or anything only just the check engine light on for p0300

okay well if it was throwing the p0171 code i would say that is your problem so thats good....the only thing it could be would be a cam or crank sensor...those are the problems i will run normal just drive a little crappy on cold start i dont know if you noticed that...

A more definitive diagnosis would useful. If you have access to a scope, you can get a better idea of what's happening. Is it one cylinder that's misfiring randomly or all cylinders. If one cylinder, then possibly a coil going out. If all cylinders, I don't know. These cars use cop ignition, so no traditional distributor. Maybe the spark plugs.

If you're a DYI, I'd start with the plugs. At 80K, they're due. Could be an injector(s) issue too. Improper fuel mixture (overly lean or rich) can also result in a misfire.

Edit: Finally, could be as simple as a bad tank of gas. Did you refuel shortly before this happened? Was it more than half tank? Although I'd think if it was bad gas, the problem would be more consistent and car would be rough running.

Don't mean to hijack your thread OP but I also get the same code on my 7AT G with only about 25k miles. I think it just started happening post Uprev tune so I'm wondering if that could be it? Didn't happen immediately after the tune though, maybe about a week afterwards. And now it happens about once a week; I'll reset it, and then it'll pop up randomly. The only thing I've noticed is that if the car is in neutral, the idle sits at 1000, but when it drive, sits at 600ish.

if youre in factory warranty bring it to infiniti and have them diag it..... for the guy with 80k youre not do for sparks until 100,000

have the same code p0171 an p0300
I change the spake plugs an 2 coil pack an I am still getting the same code

Check for vacuum leak or O2 sensor voltage
