Recently swapped my g37x 7at transmission to a used g37x transmission with about 40k miles on it, and was told from the mechanic that swapped it that it just needs a dealer update. I called the dealership and said it’s about 145 for the update, but they had told me since it’s a used transmission it might not work, so was wondering if anyone else has swapped a used transmission into there car and how they went about it.

Pretty sure that the TCM in the transmission needs to be matched to the ECU. Consult 3 is needed. Did the TCM in the old transmission die? Could swap into the new one if functional.
