New serpentine belt and belt tensioner pulley issue

Hello, I just finished installing this. The pulley was shot and replaced belt at the same time. Both OEM.

According to the FSM, the range, when a new belt is installed, is supposed to be the first notch to all the way left. Why then, a brand new belt and tensioner pulley, is showing it all the way to right? This would tell me the belt is worn and needs to be replaced but it is brand new OEM. The tensioner is also OEM brand new. The tensioner is an updated part 11955-1EA9D. Are the notches reversed or something? Or is this new tensioner defective? Is my OEM belt not tight enough possibly?

As the belt stretches overtime, this will cause the tensioner to move the left to maintain tension. With the mark already being positioned on the third notch to the right it will continue moving to the right and thus be out of range.

very confused.

I'm not sure but I would double check that you bought the right parts for your specific model.

You can click this link, then change the car to your specific model. It should give you all the right info.

There is also the possibility that the new belt was already bad as well.
