Consider yourself lucky, those Hitachi sensors are pretty stout and barely fail but still can. Usually the common failure is for metal to stick to it and cause it to read different.

also i’m pretty the oem sensors are made by “denso”. idk if that’s the same as hitachi but the one i bought isn’t oem. if that one dies i’ll know where to look next
