So was there a definitive works-with-nissan-blue type of silicone hose?

Alternatively, how do you completely drain the block? I would switch over to GL5 yellow in a heartbeat if I could get all the blue out. And I don't think the old trick of garden-hose-in-radiator-cap, flush into yard until clear is kosher any more.

You should be able to flush with store bought gallons of distilled until it runs 90+% clear. I did it with 5-6 gal. with the engine running/heater on.

Block has a drain on the side.

Pull that and radiator and flush with water and then compressed air or blower into the cooling system for a few minutes.
