I found this substance on my garage floor under my G. It is thick like a grease, silver-blue in color. I tracked it all over my house from my shoes so I am not happy. The indent is from my finger. Haven't had a chance to look under car as it has been around 107 degrees this week. I would say it lines up to where the front passenger sits. Is these a crankcase or some kind of oil line there? It feels like more of a grease than oil. Any help is welcomed.
If the axle is still good, and it's just the axle boot that is torn, generally no it's not expensive. However, if the axle is actually bad (which you would notice with vibration, clicking, cornering behavior, among other things) then the parts are pretty expensive and the labor is pretty annoying.
Depends if you do the labor yourself. First time, I paid to have it done and it was around $300.00. Second one, I did myself for about $70.00. Depends on which side of the vehicle it is. Passenger side is much easier vs. the driver's side.
