Dripping Oil

I've noticed two small puddles of oil under my engine when I park my car over night. To confirm it truly is my car, I made sure I cleaned my garage floor, covered any stains with clean white cardboard boxes and then parked over the clean/boxed area. When I drove out this mroning I inspected it and saw two puddles about 6 inches apart.

I don't recall seeing this up until an oil change 3 weeks ago. It was from the dealer.

What could it be? Anything I can check myself (I can't get under my car safely right now)

could be a number of things - loose nut on oil pan, didn't screw in the oil filter enough, gasket gone bad or out of position, etc. I hope you're monitoring your levels until you can get it addressed

I checked levels last night, it was between the two dots, pretty much centred.

Had the same thing happen to me. Noticed a drip on my garage floor after getting the oil changed at the dealership. Took it to a shop to have them put on lift to check it, found out the drain plug was loose and leaking, and oil residue had built up on the underbody panels. They cleaned it off and tightened plug, no problems.

Also call the dealer back and let them know, they'll probably give you a discount or have some other followup for you.

If you can't get under the car and remove the splash shield you won't be able to tell where it's coming from. Take it in to the dealership that changed your oil and have them fix it. Sooner rather than later.

Dropped my car off at the dealership this morning. The called me mid day and said it was the drain plug gasket was bad and that they would replace it. I headed back to pick my car up after work, service advisor said they would eat the cost cause it was just a buck (what a sense of humour). I asked if they replaced it at every oil change, they said no. Advisor said she could add a note to do so at future services. I said go ahead.

The service manual says that it should be replaced with a new part when disassembled . I really wish my experiences at the dealership would be positive and in line with what the manual states.
