Help! Oil leak!

I just went to pull my car out to have my dad pull his in and as he was walking out he noticed oil on the ground. I immediately denied that it was from my car but then I realized that I was the only car parked there all that and all his did was pull in so it couldn't have been his car. ( BMW 750Li) My car only has 2900 miles on it! and i have only had one oil change right after break in at 1500 miles. Any reasons why this could be happening?

The same thing happened to me after the first oil change. I pulled the car out of the garage and noticed a smallish oil puddle (about 6" in diameter). I cleaned it out and kept an eye for any further leaks. It's been a month since this happened and hasn't reccured so I'm assuming that there must have been some oil spilled during the oil change at the dealer somewhere below the drain plug or the filter which eventually found its way on the garage floor.
My advice: Check under your car a couple of time and if it's leaking take it back to the dealer, if there are no further leaks then you're good to go.

Your better option is to do the following: get a cheap set of Rhino Ramps from Autozone or jack the front end of your car up, unbolt the 4 rear bolts from the undertray that covers the oil filter and drain plug and check for visible leaks. My guess is there will be a bit of oil on the undertray, so be careful when you fold it down to look at the oil filter. If all looks ok, then check the oil level on your dipstick. If it reads in the normal range (between the 2 holes at the end of the stick), you should be good to go. Just keep an eye on it. Otherwise, you can take it to the dealer and have them do all of this....but for me, I like looking myself to know for sure.

l am with Knoxville G37. Find out of it there is a spill or the oil filter, or drain plug is not tight.
