G37x CV Axle Removal?

Can anyone offer some information on how the CV axles are removed? My inner boot blew out and I'm pretty sure it just happened as I had the wheel off a week ago and there was no grease anywhere whereas now everything is blanketed in grease. I can't afford a $780 OEM replacement and I'm sure the $47 Cardone ones are $47 for a reason lol so I want to replace the inner boot. I'm having trouble understanding the FSM and a search yielded like 15 different variations of how they're removed. Does anyone know for sure how to remove the drivers side CV axle? I'm reading after removing it from the hub it just prys off, then I found threads saying there's 3 bolts that all strip and another thread said 6 bolts and now I'm straight confused at this point lol.

Long 10mm wrench is your friend. There are 6 10mm bolts that will allow to you remove a portion of the axle to remove it. Make sure you are fully seated on the bolts because if you strip them it's not gonna be a very fun time

I’m kinda wondering if I should just pay someone to replace the boots then.

If your not comfortable doing it then yes. It's not difficult but if your not mechanically inclined then I would take it in

I mean I did the gallery gaskets in a driveway without a garage and then supercharged it after. But if there’s one thing I absolutely hate it’s dealing with stripped out bolts lol. If they’re that prone to stripping, I’m not sure I want to deal with the headache if they do

If you're wanting to do this DIY, I would highly recomend getting a set of anti-slip / anti-round sockets to help prevent stripping them. If you get a quality set, it'll be the last set you'll ever buy. I purchased these Matco non-slip sockets a couple years ago. They worked great on the demon bolts, so I'm sure they would work well on your CV bolts too.
