120km 6th gear what rpm are you at?

120km 6th gear what rpm are you at?

hey guys just wondering what everyones rpm is at highway speed. at 120km an hour im running 2800 rpm in 6th? is that normal for our cars? my 06 g35 6mt ran like 2200 at 120km. any advice is appreciated!

That's ~75 mph. 2800 Rpm sounds right. These 6mt cars need a 7th gear badly. You get used to it after a while. On the plus side there's good power at 80 mph without having to downshift.

Canada has highways with such speed limits?

2010 g37s

I agree it's nice not to have to downshift but it still seemed high to me especially for our vq's. was wondering if one of the previous owners did a diff swap...

posted speed limits are 100km but seems to be the unwritten rule of the road that 120 is acceptable on a major highways up here

If someone had installed short gears, you'd be more like 3500 rpm at 120 kph.

You're fine. It is what it is, which is to say it's normal.

Have you changed trans and diff fluid? Is the flywheel stock?

Don't all G37 6mt's use the same trans/gear ratios. In fact, I recall comparing the ratio numbers to the 370z to find everything was the same (just longer drive shaft). Granted,g35 might be different but this is a g37 site so it's assumed the poster has some flavor of a g37
