Car Randomly Goes Completely Dead

I have a 2014 Q60 Coupe. New battery about 6 months ago. Cables are clean and battery is good. 41,000 miles. Bone stock. Car always has started and operates normally. I went in to start the car after having just used it and it was completely dead. No interior lights, no dash indicators, no anything. Key fob inserted in dash does nothing. The key fob buttons do nothing. I put it on a charger, opened the door and all of the interior lights worked and the car started immediately, with a strong battery. It was on the charger less than 60 seconds.

I go to the store yesterday and turn off the car and when I do the entire car goes dead again. No lights, no nothing. I go home to get cables and come back 15 minutes later and open the door and the interior lights work normally and the car starts.

Come home, go to the car this morning, and it is completely dead again. Put it on the charger and its like I flipped a switch, interior lights work and car starts immediately with a strong battery. Key fob battery is 6 months old.

Three times this has happened. The automatic seat settings have to be reset each time as well. It's like something is shorted, but you put a charger on it, and it "resets" and starts normally. I just went out and started the car half a dozen times and can't get it to repeat.

The next time this happens I am going to remove a battery cable and let it sit for a minute and reconnect it to see if that "resets" whatever it is that is wrong. Have any of you guys experienced anything like this?

By the way, I love the forum and have lurked for a while. Live in far NorCal. Thanks for any help.

Make sure the battery posts and the cable clamps are clean and that the clamps tighten snugly. The negative cable clamp on many Nissan's is prone to stretching causing the clamp to become loose. I recently had to replace mine ('08) as it was working loose as I drove. Also happens from time to time on my old beater pickup truck (just haven't got to replacing the cable yet).

The next time this occurs, open the battery box and lightly tap each cable. If you hear a little "crack" you know the clamp is not keeping a tight connection. Also while the battery is disconnected, check all of the fuses/fusibile links for tightness, corrosion, etc.

Dude that installed battery did crap job. Positive terminal was not entirely snug so I tightened both sides. Easy fix that explains the problem. Better than chasing gremlins.

Thanks again.
