700-800HP Goal Forced Induction or engine swap
2008 G37 Coupe 6MT my goal is to get to 700-800HP to the wheels and was wondering what would be the better/somewhat cheaper option to go with. Engine swap or FI

I believe the stock block can hold up to 500hp to the wheels (don’t quote me on that). I would suggest building the internals to forged or billet, lower compression to 9:1, and go from there. Swapping an engine would require fabrication meaning your at the discretion of what they want to charge you, and the car may be down longer than you want it to be.
Cheaper option would be going with a different car entirely; especially if you have an AT. To answer your question though, built would be the way to go and 500-600whp would be a more realistic number. 700-800 range with these cars is a massive (*expensive*) undertaking and doesn't make sense when there are other cars purpose built for that kind of power. A ZL1 can put down those numbers for less than it would be to build a G37.
