While driving on cruise control at just above 60MPH, i heard a lod noise. When i accelerate its fine, but whn i leave the accelerator the car makes a howling sound. And the drive dosent feel the same anymore. Any idea what this could be??

Well, at the very least, it looks like the front seal failed. Gotta get that fixed. There may be damage, though, which warrants opening up the pumpkin..

 

As slarti said. Drop the diff and inspect. These are a dime a dozen so I'd skip a rebuild and swap in a low mileage used diff.

 

What did you run over, there is a dent on the silver part
