Post Center Bearing on Main Drive Shaft

I have researched and found that the UV joints are not replaceable on 2010 G37X. I have to buy a new complete Drive Shaft.

Is the Center Bearing Support & Bearing replaceable? Anyone have experience with that?

Thank you,

Yes they are.

What’s a UV joint?

Universal Joint, sorry bad habit.

I did get up and remove the heat shields to the full drive shaft and there is about 1/4" to 1/2" play in the rubber fitting on the central bearing (drive shaft). Any idea if that is right or wrong?

I am thinking there should be a little play to let the drive shaft flex, but no idea if that is too much.

All the other connection points on the drive axle from Transfer Case to Diffy are tight and don't show any signs of being bad (It looks like at all points it spun grease out of the Universal Joints up to the underside, but that may be normal for those at 108K miles)!

If the central bearing is replaceable, it seems like I should just replace the whole drive shaft as I'll be taking the entire linkage out.

Thoughts & thanks for the help....

That rubber thing is called a guibo (don't ask me why). Non-replaceable though a recent post by someone from Korea indicates a replacement in metal can be had. Maybe.
