P0300 can anyone help
P0300 can anyone help
I have a 2008 G37S, love it to death. About 2 weeks ago my “service engine soon light” came on solid. I took it to get read and came up with a p0300 which is a engine misfire issue. My car seemed to run exactly the same, doesnt idle rough, doesnt shake, when i step on the gass it goes, so I didn’t know where to start troubleshooting at. So I took it to a shop the only thing they did was change the spark plugs. Which I thought worked for the past couple weeks no “service engine soon light”. Took it on a 500 mile trip and no problems. Yesterday I was driving and the “service engine light” came on this time it started blinking, I was driving so I couldn’t count the blinks but from what I counted it was 5. After that it came on solid. I am trying not to drive my car anymore till I can figure out the issue. I have been doing research but still no clear answer. If there is anyone that could help I really appreciate it.
Seems like a popular code. I had that code along with the P0524 (low oil pressure) and a P0021 (cam sensor). Took it to Nissan, the codes cleared, no additional results. Waiting for the codes to pop up again, but the mechanic said that if the car sits a lot, which mine does, there could be corrosion, dirt or some other issue that could throw the code. Good luck. If you really want to get confused, read the sticky Infiniti Consumer Affairs above.
Addendum: Decided to take the car for a drive this morning as the mechanic suggested. Started the car and the SES light came on. Checked with my OBDII reader and it was the P0300 code again. No other codes, just that one this time. Decided to take the car back to the dealer and within a mile the SES light went off by itself. Checked again with my OBDII reader and nothing. No codes and nothing pending.
