Either thermostat is bad which is cheap fix or your radiator fins are bent and damaged

Exclamation G37 Overheating

I have a 2012 G37, and I heard from Infiniti, if the factory radio has a short, this can cause overheating. Can anyone confirm if they are experiencing these issue coinciding with each other? For me, this is true. Anyone else out there?

Shorts are related to over-current situations and these normally blow fuses. Not sure how this is linked to overheating, which is more mechanical and tied to the coolant system. Maybe the short in the radio is preventing the ECU (onboard computer) to send the correct signal to the electric fans?

What is "overheating?" The engine, or the radio? The radio does have a fail-safe should the headunit get too hot as a result of the internal fan failing or excessive ambient temperatures. You live in Phoenix so it is not out of the realm of possibility. Usually as the cabin cools the radio returns to normal operation.

However, if the engine is overheating, then I call bologna. The radio has ZERO effect on the engine cooling system.

The fans are commanded by the IPDM/er based on the signal from the ECU. In the event that the ECU/ IPDM/er CAN connection goes bad, the fans kick on to 100% duty as part of their fail-safe.

In the event that the radio did "short" out, it would cease sending/ receiving data on the CANBUS and set a U1000 code.

OP needs to clarify his symptoms/ issues (unless we're being trolled) .
