I got mine from lkq on ebay. They had a great selection and great prices. Came with a warranty and I got free shipping to a local hub near me. They have tons of low mileage 3.7s

Well once you remove hood front clip disconnect all electrical and mechanical connections have car lifted and have a cherry picker it's just a matter of disconnecting the engine from the frame. Be a good time to replace all motor mounts and trans mounts since it's out and you won't have to hassle with it later.

3.7k is waaaaaaaaay too much for an engine. I just got one with 36k miles for $1550. look online for used motors. there's a lot of good deals out there.

Hill's is a well known/respected Z independent mech. so I'd trust what they say in terms of what your options are. That said, There's going to be mark-up for parts and labor. If you absolutely LOVE the G37 and have another mode of reliable transportation then go for the swap but be honest with yourself in regards to what your capabilities are....

after reading through this thread and op.... 100% agree, 3.7k for a used motor is highway robbery..... im in canada and can find vq37vhr's all day long for 2k or less, most being less than 100km/80k m... whomever quoted you that price is straight up hoping to take advantage of you and pocket a nice chunk of change on your dime... was that 7k total? or 7k labor & 3700 for a motor? even combined its... criminal... separate.. thats the kinda **** you live for if you have a legal degree lol

I just replaced my motor in my g and the motor was less than 2k and had less than 20k miles. do not pay 3700, that shop is ripping you off big time. It was from a 2015 z and I put it in a 2010 g. No issues and the engine came complete with all accessories, injectors, throttle bodies, exhaust manifolds, o2 sensors, intake manifold. Just dropped it in and plugged everything in and off I went.

You can check out my thread about the timing chain tensioner failure and motor replacement. This motor is not the easiest to replace but it can be done with a good set of extra hands. I found a motor with less than 50K miles for under $1K. It’s been running now for 25K miles with the new motor.
