A few owners use the filter for the Titan V-8. Same threads and more volume.
out of curiosity, whats the benefit of doing this and do you have to put in more oil to account for the increased volume? Also any negatives like a decrease in oil pressure?...I was thinking about it as my wife's Honda uses a longer version of the one I use for my G (Same threads and diameter) and I have a bunch in the garage that I could use...it seems like it may just slow the saturation of the filter with contaminants with more surface area i.e it will be in better shape if I cant get to an oil change as fast as I'd like to

Here's a semi-funny look at the answer to your question...
I have used the larger 4.5/5.6 liter V8 filters since our 07G35, they fit well w/ room under the splash pan and the OEM V6 filter is SO small
good to know, I just looked it up and the filter on the 5.6 litre engine is the same one that my wife's Honda uses and I was contemplating trying. I think I'll try it next oil change
