Missing a plastic piece under my car
Hi all,
So I was replacing my fog lights last night and found out that the plastic piece that covers the engine oil filter is missing. Basically someone from the shop forgot to put it back in when they were changing engine oil for my car.
Is this something that I should worry? If it is, would it cover by warranty?
Extra question.: my glovebox light is out. Would it cover by warranty as well?
P.s. I have extended elite warranty

Don't think glovebox light bulbs are covered, but ??? As far as that piece that's missing, are you referring to the large plastic splash pan? If so the shop may still have it put away in their "lost & found". Otherwise they are about $80 IIRC, if it was an Infiniti dealer that forgot to put it on and you have proof of that service I would talk to the service manager and explain that it was never reinstalled.

2 years ago my splash shield was badly damaged from road debris and had to be replaced. Ended up costing me $280 (parts/labor) at the dealer. Im sure if you find one used and have the means to install it yourself you might get closer to $80

I'm unsure about the part number. However, mine ended up falling/ripping off as well.
Since my plastic one wasn't in the best condition, I ended up getting this:

Love it, it's treated me well to date. Can sound a bit sketchier when you scrape. However, you know its safe. :-).
sorry, I know that doesn't answer your question.

Some G's have a small plastic flap/door just for filter access. Is that is whats missing or is it the entire plastic undertray - runs from front of the bumper to past the oil pan? If its the entire undertray I would definitely replace it.

I have contacted the shop but I feel like they probably won't find it.
I'm afraid of stuffs getting stuck there and get possible future issue.
That's lots of money for a plastic piece..

My 09 RWD has the oil filter access flap, but it's just a crease in the large pan that allows you to bend it back. There's no separate section, and yeah, that is a lot of green for a piece of plastic. The part is pretty large so I'd imagine it would be another $25 or more to ship it

If I were you, I would replace the splash shield, Nissan/Infiniti spent the money to have it there for a reason...
My guess is that it protects the belts from dirt/debris and directs airflow around the engine and transmission.
