Harsh downshifts

I'm a previous G35 owner and have just purchased '11 G37. Two weeks into ownership I've notice significant harsh downshifts from 2>1. Some delay here and there with taking off from a complete stop and/or quick acceleration. The previous owner hardly drove it. There's only 12,800 miles on her to date. I drove 1999 Honda Prelude for 10yrs (love her...but she needs some tender loving care.) after having to sell my '04 G35. I'm a pretty old school girl as far as knowing about cars so upgrading to a 2011 I'm in car tech shock. Is there anything any of you can tell me about the harsh shifting/delay issue?

Ask the mods to move this to tech/engine and transmission. Discussions ongoing.

more than likely you need an updated trans software flash. take it in the dealer and have them check the trans and see if it needs the updated software.
