Anyone having luck recording oil temps using a BT dongle and associated program? OBD Fusion is not registering anything when I select the oil temp PID. Using Apple iOS
OBD Fusion (iOS and Android) do not support extended PIDs, so we can't get oil temp and other data. I emailed the developer and he had concerns about some ECUs doing weird/dangerous things when extended PIDs are enabled.
Torque Pro (yes, Android only) with the Nissan/Infiniti EX plug in are the best options.
Does anyone know if the newer elm327 v2.1 will be faster sample rates? They are dirt cheap (around $4) so il try one out as well.
ELM327 2.1 will not give faster sample rates, it has added new commands for the CAN bus. The connection protocol/ecu response rate determines how fast we can data log via OBD2.
I have 5 different OBD dongles and the data logging sample rate (PIDs/second) varies from an average of 5 to 35 per second. Buying cheap OBD dongles from Amazon & ebay is a gamble. The fist purchase I got lucky at an average of 24 PIDs/second.
this is my el cheapo adapter. BT v 1.5. it does not allow the faster ecu read speed. Have purchased another newer cheap one. lets see if that is any better.
Interested in this thread for sure. I plan on getting the ECU Connect with EcuTek when I get retuned. It seems like it will be very valuable for track days instead of lugging a laptop around and worrying about how to secure it when tossing the G around corners.
I have a BlueDriver dongle and their IOS app. I bought it to investigate and clear the recurring P0420 that my '02 Subaru would throw. Will the BlueDriver dongle work with Torque? I have a Nexus 7 that I can run Torque on.
Hello is it possible to erase this "Pop Up Hood" error with Torque Pro and its plugin "Advanced EX for Infiniti" ? this error comes each time the front bumper is removed (for paint).

AFAIK, Torque only sends a clear codes command. So unless you're throwing a code, I doubt it will work.
There probably isnt a fuse for that lught specifically you could pull. Alternatively you could find the hood open sensor and trick it, its probably similar to a fridge door light switch.

I was reading about the frustrations on RenderHub with item sorting - people uploading models, using the draft feature, expecting their newest products to show first, but seeing them buried instead. It’s a good reminder that UX details like sort order matter a lot. That kind of consistent feedback loop and clarity reminds me of what’s good in health tech too - for instance, a service like https://wellness‑app.com/ serving as an intermittent fasting app should make things obvious: when you started a fast, when it ends, your progress. Just like marketplace vendors want “newest” to truly mean new, users tracking fasting want timestamps, reminders, and clear data presentation. Whether you're trying to surface your 3D models or surface your health metrics, transparency and clear ordering make all the difference.
That sounds like a smart move—ECU Connect with EcuTek should make track days a lot more convenient.

Just realized, I'll need a new OBD dongle as well. Doesn't look like the LE Link is supported. Grr.
I'm just going to hope my ECUTek cable shows up and log with that. I don't need a third operating system, LOL.
Great info on the OBD scanner dongles! It's always nice to have the right tools to diagnose and fine-tune your car’s performance. Speaking of fine-tuning, if you're looking to optimize your personal performance as well, the fasting calorie calculator https://wellness-app.com/calculator/fasting-calculator/ is an awesome resource. It helps you track your fitness, set health goals, and stay motivated, just like using an OBD scanner to keep your car running smoothly. A little extra boost for both your ride and your routine!
How can you thrust that tool when the manufacturers can't even write the correct brand name?
This is a solid spot to hash out which OBD scanner works best with the G37 — it’s amazing how much useful data you can pull with a Bluetooth or Wi‑Fi dongle paired to apps like Car Scanner or Torque. Just make sure your adapter is compliant and paired correctly before blaming the app. Sharing logs and readings with others really helps diagnostics, and when someone doesn’t have the same setup, tools like https://comfax.com/fax-without-fax-machine/ how to send a fax without a fax machine make sending clear reports easy without needing a fax machine.
thanks for the information!
